Sadie is a practising Solicitor, Senior Lecturer and accredited mediator. Sadie specialises in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Sadie has been Clinic Director since 2019, and she has developed the Law Clinic into a nationally award-winning operation that has provided over one million pounds of free legal advice to the public. Sadie co-convenes all the Law Clinic modules. Sadie was named Oxford University Press’s national Law Teacher of the Year in 2023.
Prior to joining the University, Sadie was a Solicitor at a Magic Circle law firm in London. In this role, she worked on high profile Litigation and Regulatory disputes and was seconded to the firm's Amsterdam office and later to the legal team of a Premier League football club. Sadie also worked as a Solicitor in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team of a global law firm based in Manchester.
Kathryn is a Solicitor and Senior Lecturer in the Law School, specialising in Education Law and Clinical Legal Education. Kathryn has been Clinic Director since 2019, and she has developed the Law Clinic into a nationally award-winning operation that has provided over one million pounds of free legal advice to the public. Kathryn co-convenes all the Law Clinic modules.
Prior to joining Lancaster University, Kathryn worked for a firm of solicitors based in Lancaster city centre. Here, the majority of the work she undertook was legal aid work, assisting parents who have children with special educational needs and/or disabilities to challenge decisions made by Local Authorities in respect of their child’s education and the level of support they received in school. Kathryn regularly advised parents on matters relating to school admissions, school exclusions, home to school transport, judicial review, disability discrimination in schools, and community care issues.
Eleanor is a Solicitor and Lecturer at Lancaster University Law School, specialising in Private Client and Clinical Legal Education.
Prior to joining Lancaster University, Eleanor worked for a firm of solicitors based in Lancaster. During her time there, she dealt with all aspects of Private Client work. Eleanor has a particular interest in complex large estates, usually involving farming businesses as well as estates with foreign assets. Eleanor worked closely with vulnerable clients to help with estate planning, will writing, preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and assisting with deputyship reporting. Eleanor also helped her clients engage in effective Inheritance Tax Planning and advised on making lifetime gifts.
Zanele is a Solicitor and Lecturer of Clinical Legal Education. Prior to joining the University, Zanele worked for a firm of solicitors based in West Yorkshire where she primarily undertook family law work. In this role, she managed a caseload which included divorce, separation, finances, domestic abuse, and private child law matters. Zanele teaches on the Law clinic modules in the law school and supervises family law cases in the law clinic.
